At Last, Amichi Community Set To Elect New Leaders Today.

After months of intrigues and perceived unhealthy politicking, the people of Amichi Community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State will today file out to elect new leaders to pilot their of her union, Amichi Development Union(ADU).

The election which earlier scheduled for April 5th failed to hold after crisis erupted at the election venue, leaving everybody scampering for safety.

This magazine had reported in the past how internal manouverings has left the community on the edge of another round of communal crisis.

However, it took the intervention of Anambra State government through the office of the ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs to restore confidence in the election process, and directed all parties to maintain status quo while releasing a new timeline on which the election shall be premised.

Following the directive of Anambra state government all four quarters were mandated to hold internal primary election for all allocated positions to determine who shall be presented to the community for adoption.

In a letter obtained by our reporter addressed to the community by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Today, 29th May 2020, the community shall gather through delegate system to properly elect or authenticate the election of her town union officers. The Honorable commissioner has assured the community that high-powered observers from the state capital shall be on ground to ensure a transparent free and fare process.
