BREAKING NEWS: Anambra State Govt Cancels Scheduled Amichi PG Election

Citing insecurity and sundry issues, the Anambra State government through the commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has cancelled the ADU presidential election earlier scheduled to take place Saturday July 23.

Recall that AMICHI MAGAZINE has earlier reported that a magistrate court sitting in Ukpor Nnewi magisterial district granted an injunction halting the conduct of the said election.

Speaking to our correspondent, the personal assistant to the traditional ruler of Amichi Chief Eric Ume-Ezeoke, he said the intervention of the court has become necessary to forestall breakdown of law and order. In his words;

In other to restore peace and tranquility in Amichi community, court of competent jurisdiction has granted an injunction restraining Anambra State Government and Chief Cletus Udebuani from conducting an election to ndi Amichi on July 23rd, 2022.”

The supposed election is hereby cancelled by Anambra State Government.

The case is adjourned to 1st September 2022.
