Champions League: Mount makes history as Chelsea eliminates Real Madrid
Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount, on Wednesday night, made history following his side’s UEFA Champions League semi-final 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
Two goals from Timo Werner and Mount ensured Chelsea qualified for the Champions League final ahead of Real Madrid.
Chelsea eliminated Real Madrid from the Champions League on a 3-1 aggregate victory, having played a 1-1 draw against Zinedine Zidane’s side in the first-leg last week.
Thomas Tuchel’s men will now face Premier League rivals Manchester City in the Champions League final on May 29.
However, according to OptaJose, Mount’s goal against Real Madrid means the England international has now become the youngest player (22 years and 115 days) in the Champions League history to score in a semi-final against the Los Blancos.
Mount will now hope to continue his impressive display for Chelsea when they face Manchester City in an away Premier League tie on Saturday.
