COVID-19: Knocks Greet Hon. Ozobialu’s Palliatives.

The member representing Nnewi South 1 constituency in Anambra state House Of Assembly Hon. Sonny Ozobialu has continued to receive knocks from across his constituents over what they termed “neglect of indigenous product”.

Hon Ozobialu over the weekend shared bags of 10kg “caprice” brand of rice as COVID-19 palliatives among his constituents. However, condemnation has continued to trail the lawmaker’s choice of “foreign product” knowing that Anambra Rice/Stinerice factory is domiciled in his constituency, Amichi precisely.

An aggrieved stakeholder Hon Henry Ekene Nwachinemelu took to his Facebook page to vent his dissatisfaction:

“WHY MUCH ADO OVER THIS?
MUCH attention has been drown over the palliative package shared by Nnewi south consistency 1, HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBER,
HON SUNNY OZOBIALU over the weekend.
I appluaded his kind gesture over his constituents and also rejoice with all the people that benefited from it.

But I observed that all the bags of rice shared was a trademark of stallion Group with it’s brand name CAPRICE, A PRODUCTS OF THAILAND.
The last time I checked, stallion Group and it’s brands of Rice are all FOREIGN RICE.

THESE LEFT ME TO WONDER WITH QUESTIONS
1, Does the contents of the bags really FOREIGN RICE?
2, if YES, How come did he get it or was it actually smuggled
3, if Yes, that means it ought to be contraband
4 , if it’s contraband, the person that brought it must be a SMUGGLER

ON A SECOND THOUGHT I ASKED MYSELF IF ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ADOPT ANAMBRA RICE AS THE STATE BRAND PRODUCE
Why going to Thailand?
We are privileged to have the said ANAMBRA RICE FACTORY in Nnewi south LGA, not only that the factory also domicile in AMICHI a town next to Ekwulumiri the home town of our indefatigable Representative House member Hon Sunny Ozobialu.

MY QUESTIONS STILL REMAIN
1, In all the efforts of our Great Governor, His Excellency Chief Wille Obiano to encourage locally Rice Produce, our House of Assembly member still import Foreign Rice.?
2, As a good citizen of Nigeria and Representative of his constituency where ANAMBRA RICE FACTORY is domicile, He didn’t deem it fit to Patronize them.
3, Does this action shows good of our Representative having flaunted the POLICY AND IDEALOGY of both Federal Govt and State Govt.
