JAN 5TH: Accolades as ‘Umunwehi Day’ Celebration Draws Near.

Goodwill messages have continued to pour in as the people of Umunwehi community Amichi, in Nnewi south local government area of Anambra State gear up for what happens to be the most elaborate celebration in their history.
The event which is scheduled to hold on 5th January 2022 shall draw men and women of substance from all walks of life into the God’s Own Village.
Speaking to Amichi Magazine correspondent Modestus Igweka, the president general of Umunwehi Development Union(UDU) Ambassador Emmanuel Chukwubunna Alex Ezike said that all is set for a celebration that shall redefine the common existence of the community. In his words; “since we assumed office in January 2021, we have always done everything possible to ensure that Umunwehi continues to compete positively among the committee of communities is Amichi and beyond. Our goal has been to reposition UDU for greatness. This UDU Day Celebration is the first of its kind in the history of this historic community. It presents us with a rare opportunity of celebrating our common existence as a people, foster love and unity among us, as well as the opportunity of installing some distinguished sons of this community as patrons, and recognizing those who have served the community meritoriously in the past. The later is very symbolic because we have a history that transcends down to our founding fathers. So, we shall recognize all our past leaders and honor them as well.“
The president general who also triples as the president of Amichi Development Union Youth Wing, the president general of Umu Umeokwu Family Meeting and the Chief Executive Officer of BONITAS IDEAL EVENT PLANNERS, noted that “very important personalities, special guests and dignitaries across the political class, business moguls, captains of industries, established traditional rulers, the academia, grand sons and daughters (umu nwadiana) of the community have been invited and shall massively grace the occasion, some of whom shall be honored with awards as well.”
The chairman of the UDU Day planning committee, Mr Nzube Umechukwuka, said that the event under the distinguished chairmanship of Barr (Sir) & Dr (Lady) Ifeanyi Callistus Ezegamba(Ihe of Ihe) and co-chaired by Evang & Mrs Christian Azuka Geoffrey(Pastor), shall commence by 1pm, with a number of programmes and side attractions lined up to spice up the noble occasion.
Meanwhile, members of the community have continued to laud the developmental giant strides if the president general, citing that the community hasn’t had it this good in years.
