N100M Bribery: Two Chinese Land In EFCC Net.

Two Chinese citizen Mr. Meng Wei Kun and Mr. Xu Koi have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission [EFCC] Sokoto Zone office.

They were arrested for offering EFCC Zonal Head, Mr. Abdullahi Lawal the sum of N50, 000, 000, 000 [fifty million Naira] as bribe.

The NationGuardNews.com gathered that the alleged bribe was offered in a despite bid to compromise an ongoing investigation of a construction firm, China Zhonghab Nig. Ltd which is handling contracts awarded by the Zamfara State Government in the sum of N50, 000, 000, 000 [fifty billion Naira between 2012 and 2019.

The contracts were construction of township roads in Gummi, Bukkuyun and Anka. Another was in Nasarawa towns of Zamfara State. They were to equally construct one hundred and sixty eight [168] solar – powered boreholes in the 14 local government areas of the State.

Some Nigerians were not happy how foreigners especially the Chinese citizens resident in Nigeria are duping Nigerians. They therefore praised EFCC for making the bribe givers find that Nigeria is not the next colony.

”It is about time that Nigeria show the Chinese people that Nigeria is not gonna be the next Chinese colony, and lead the way for other African countries in showing that the African continent not going to be the next Chinese colony”.
