PMAN Sacks “Chikobi” Led Anambra Chapter, Appoints Ikem Mazeli As Administrator
The crisis rocking the Anambra state chapter of Performing Musicians Employers Association Of Nigeria(PMAN) has been laid to rest as the National Working Committee of the association dissolved and sacked the rebellious faction led by Mr Uzochukwu Elochukwu, popularly known as “Professor Chikobi”.
The national leadership in turn appointed Mr Ikem Mazeli as Administrator of the chapter pending election of new state executive committee.
In a letter signed personally by the PMAN national president, Mr Pretty Okafor, he cited a 6th February 2020 court order marked SUIT NO: NICN/IB/90/2019 , sacking all state executives.
Recall that Anambra state PMAN had been submerged in crisis since September 2019, with different factions laying claim to the state leadership, particularly Mr Uzochukwu and Co who have continued to parade themselves as “authentic” state exco.
Speaking to our reporter on the development, the Nnewi South chairman of PMAN Mr Ebere Oradiegwu expressed happiness that Anambra state PMAN will breath a new life with Mr Mazeli’s appointment as Administrator.
He said; “Chikobi and his co-travellers have embarrassed Anambra state PMAN enough since last year, causing troubles here and there, parading himself as PMAN governor with the aid of some unwholesome elements who do not want the progress of PMAN in Anambra state.”
“This dissolution came handy. It has laid to rest, the efforts of some meddlesome interlopers which nearly collapsed PMAN in Anambra state. With the wealth of Ikem Mazeli(Material Onye Nwe Egwu), I am confident that the glory of Anambra state PMAN will return. Ikem is people’s choice. He has unquantifiable integrity to lead the association. I don’t think there would have been a better option. We are happy.” He concluded.
